Anne Lamott | Some Assembly Required: A Journal of My Sonís First Son

“A narrator who has relished and soaked up the details of her existence, equally of mirth and devastation, and spilled them onto her pages” (New York Times), Anne Lamott writes about loss with honesty and compassion and uplifts readers with her faith and wit. She is the author of seven novels and six books of non-fiction, including Operating Instructions, an account of life as a single mother during her son’s first year; Bird by Bird: Some Instructions on Writing and Life; Traveling Mercies, a collection of autobiographical essays on faith; and Plan B: Further Thoughts on Faith. She was the subject of the 1999 documentary Bird by Bird with Annie. Some Assembly Required details her first year of grandparenthood.
