Zadie Smith | NW
Zadie Smith’s extraordinary debut novel White Teeth—a dazzling portrait of contemporary multicultural London—received a raft of awards, including the Whitbread First Novel Award, and was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award. Her third novel, On Beauty, was a finalist for the Man Booker Prize and won the 2006 Orange Prize for fiction. A professor at New York University, Smith is also the author of The Autograph Man and Changing My Mind: Occasional Essays. Her new novel NW is a tragicomic portrait of four Londoners who escaped the grim housing estate of their London childhood, only to be brought back by a stranger’s visit.
